I missed posting a few photos from St. Pat's Day so I'm back tracking a little. My mom brought over a sweater for Katie to wear. It's about 25 years old. We thought it was something Nana Kerrigan had knit back in the day but we noticed a tag from some store in Limerick, Ireland. I'm guessing it was a gift from one of her and Grampa's trips. It looks really cute on Katie. Now that the weather is getting nice, Katie and Abby have assumed their neighborhood-watch position at the front door.

It is Spring yet?
I'm not sure how to dress Katie in this weird period between winter and spring...as you can tell. This is her in the front yard before Chad put her in the pink buggy and headed down to the park. We're actually thinking more about summer these days. I signed Katie up for swimming lessons at a local gym. Classes start on May 2nd. She's in the Little Nemos group which is 6 mos. to 3 years old. It's a parent/child class so bathing suit season is coming way too early for me!

We Will Rock You!
Both Josie and Kelly at daycare mentioned last week that they could hear Katie singing herself to sleep at nap time. They were a little surprised that it sounded like "We Will Rock You". I admit I've heard the "We Will" part at home but that was where it ended. I was at my cousin Sue's on Sunday and when Katie burst into song, she said that it sounded like "We Will Rock You". It has since morphed into "We Will Rocky, Rocky". I haven't taken her to any high school sporting events and we just fixed our radio. I guess where she learned that song will continue to be a mystery.

Last week marked two years since Lady Abigail of Ireland's Three Sons joined our family. That's Abby the dog's official name according to her AKC papers. I always tell people that Abby found us at the perfect time. I was newly pregnant and Abby was my loyal sidekick. She was always up for a nap! It was nice to have a four-legged "baby" to help us ease into the transition until our real baby arrived. Who would have thought that both dog and baby would be early risers? Doesn't anyone like to sleep in? Abby has since grown into Katie's companion. Katie wakes up every morning asking for Abby. As much as we would like a little less dog hair in the house and a dog who likes to sleep past 6am, we wouldn't trade Abby in for anything.
The bottom picture is Abby in her window seat, which is at the end of the hall on the second floor. Everyday when I come home from work, I drive up to the house and there she is waiting for us in her window. It never fails!
18 months and counting
Weighing in at 25lbs and reaching heights of 33" is Miss Kathleen Perusse! I took Katie in for her 18 month doctor's appointment today. She looks good and is right on target developmentally. She was Miss Chatterbox with the doctor but the nurses - those with needles- were not so warmly received. I'm thrilled that our appointments are only yearly now. She spent the whole morning saying "doctor, doctor" yet ,once we hit the exam room, she freaked out. I was expecting it. When we got home I went for a sure-fire crowd pleaser...a ride through the neighborhood in the pink buggy!
