Raisin Bran Connection

Raisin Bran is turning into an daily ritual with Katie. She asks for it every morning for breakfast. I find this funny because when I was pregnant with her I walked down the cereal aisle at Target, spotted a box of Raisin Bran and proceeded to eat enormous quantities of it until she was born. I don't know if there is a correlation but if she starts inhaling coffee ice cream, cheeseburgers, blueberry bagels and boston creme donuts, I'll be very suspicious.

If Only It Actually Cut Grass

Uncle Jeff came down from Vermont this weekend and spent some time with Katie. I think she enjoyed spending some time with "Feff". He brought this bubble mower for her. If only it really cut grass! We could use an extra hand with the yard work. The dog really liked it too. Abby eats the bubbles!

Oh No! Home Improvement

We're starting to tackle some home improvement projects. This is our 3rd bedroom. We are stripping the wallpaper and repainting. Katie repeatedly yells "OH NO!" everytime she glances in the direction of that room. I hope she doesn't have that reaction when we're finished. Stay tuned for some after shots.

Bathroom Break

I don't think Kathleen is ready to give up her diapers but the bathroom is her new favorite place in the house. There are a few older girls at daycare and Katie loves to be like the big kids. When they line up to go the bathroom Katie jumps right in line even though she still wears diapers!

Easter (Part II)

The Easter Bunny came to our house (and whole bunch of other houses too) and showered Katie with gifts. She's a lucky girl. Katie made it through the whole day, which included church, visit from the Kerrigans and brunch at Sheila and Bob's, like a champ. She hippity hopped all day.

Happy Easter!

I'm so tired from Easter that I'll recap it during the week. In short, we had a great time and the whole family is very tired. I thought I would bring this photo back from the archives. It's Katie last Easter. We did see the Easter Bunny while returning some clothes on Saturday morning. When I asked Katie if she wanted to say hi to the Easter Bunny, I got an enthusiastic "YEAH!" When I asked her if she wanted to sit on his lap, I got an enthusiastic "NO!"

My Little Ladybug

It's a rainy day here and I love to see Katie in her ladybug rain jacket. She hung out with me this morning while I ran some errands. The rain can't stop us!

Batter Up

Chad and I went to the Red Sox opening day this week. Katie stayed home with Nana but showed her spirit by wearing a Red Sox jacket that Ally, her friend from daycare, loaned her.

We love Cape Cod

We took a trip to the Cape to visit Nana and Papa (Chad's parents) this weekend. We were celebrating Nana's birthday! After seeing how much she loved to walk the dock and look at the "fishies," I'm looking forward to some warm weekends when we can hit the beach. Abby decided not to wait for the warm weather and went swimming anyway.

This might be a long meal

This is one way to use a fork. Not the easiest way but one way.

Hail to the Chief

My cousin Steve came over the other night and brought Katie the coolest souvenir from the Inauguration. As part of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, they commissioned special licences plates for the event. Katie's version appeared on the President's limousine the day of the Inauguration. There were only a handful of plates made. Here is a picture Emily took of the motorcade when she went to the big event.

When I gave the plate to Katie for her to see, she put it in her grocery cart. Don't worry Steve, I'm sure she'll grow to appreciate the gift. Maybe it'll inspire her to be president some day!
