Obsessed with Sea Creatures

The girls have been absolutely fascinated with all sea creature lately. Mostly because of there fondness for tv. They love the movie Happy Feet and were obsessed with a documentary series called North America over the summer. We thought it was time to bring them into the New England Aquarium.

I haven't been there since a office Holiday Party took place there in 2000 (one I would like to forget thanks to the open bar) and before that it was probably a school field trip. I can't even remember.  It was nice to check out their new exhibits.

Sharks and Rays Touch Tank. I didn't touch one. I saw a huge one while snorkeling  on our honeymoon and I can still feel my adrenaline pumping 7 years later. But this exhibit was really cool and the rays actually seemed friendly.

The Big Tank was great. Who doesn't love a giant turtle? He was eating lettuce!

We stopped by the seal exhibit just in time to see some fighting and barking. Cordova was the loudest by alot.

We are members now until November 2014 so I'm sure we'll be back to visit a few more times.

Marin's First Haircut

At the tender age of three and a half, Marin is getting her first haircut!  It's was getting a little long in the back so we thought today would be the perfect day to trim her up. It took her 3.5 years to grow it and. 3 minutes to cut it!

She was very still and quiet. The perfect client. And she loves the 'parkles in her hair!

Cape Cod 2013

We started our Cape Cod vacation by maneuvering around a 6 mile back up at the Bourne Bridge (yay us!) and was rewarded with a sunny and relaxing day.

Summer Fun

Not to be outdone with the summer fun, Marin spent the day with Nona at her friend Mickey's pool. Swimming and a nap....seems like the perfect day to me.

Off to camp!

Today is Katie's first official day at camp. She seemed cautious but excited to go, which is how I would be so I guess the apple doesn't fall far from this tree. My coworker's daughter is a camp veteran and starting her third year so she took Katie under her 7-year-old wing.  I can't wait until she gets home to see if she liked it. I think I'm projecting onto her because camp looks so fun that I want to go, too!
