Zone vs Man-to-Man
Chad went to the Patriots game yesterday which meant it was just us ladies at home. Katie played Toy Story all day and Marin entertained herself when she wasn't sleeping or eating. Things went smoothly. I have a zone defense going but it's manageable. It's not as efficient as the man-to-man but the laundry can wait.
I made a pizza for dinner, put it in the over and set the timer for 8 minutes. I had my phone in the front pocket of my sweatshirt as I was following Marin. In eight minutes, she climbed the stairs...
..high-tailed it to the fridge when I opened it. She held on and then...

...pushed it so it banged against the door frame.

After being bored by banging the refrigerator, she crossed the room to Abby's bowl and banged it around. The dog is used to this otherwise Abby'd probably be frantic thinking it was chow time...

Staying with this theme, Marin went into the hall to lie down on the dog's bed. This is so gross and we have tried to stop this behavior but she loves it and she's so fast that usually she makes it onto the bed even if we are right behind her.

She moved onto the recycling bin where we put all of the paper and cardboard. She took out the Mac and Cheese box I had JUST thrown in there.

Pizza is done! I take it out of the oven and Katie and I sit down to eat. Marin hangs out underneath the table which is where she typically stays until we are done with dinner.

Tonight, she decided to stand up by pulling herself up onto Katie's chair. She then shimmy over to the table and tried to hold onto the table. I snapped this picture, got up and by the time I got to the otehr side of the table, she let her weight go so she was hanging from her finger tips. Her legs were on on the floor but not hold her up.

She can get alot accomplished in 10 minutes!

Snow Day
Before my company officially cancelled work today, I had already decided that I wouldn't even attempt to go. It's against my New Year's resolution which is 'Work Less, Play More" which I'm failing miserably at so far. Seems like a busy holiday season has led to an even busier 2011 at work.
I'm trying a more leave-it-to-interpretation resolution. Last year's resolution was to play golf twice (9 holes counts) and ski once. Again, I failed miserably. They frown on skiing in your third trimester which didn't help me sneak in my typical late-season run to the mountain and I usually play at least one round of golf at the end of the season in a tournament for my mom's ladies league which I bailed on this year. At the end of that round every year I say "I like this. Why don't I play more golf?" which is what led to the resolution.
At least I have 50 more weeks to work on it. For now, I'm going to enjoy this snow day. Here is our local meteorologists checking out the early morning scene.

Nine is Fine
Marin is nine months old now! She is crawling (on all fours), standing and eating a ton. She weighs 18lbs and is 28 inches long. I think her favorite thing to do these days is sit on her knees to play, point her finger at you and play peek-a-boo. She's getting stronger and is sturdier when she stands. She even loves to stand up in the bath tub. In fact, she hardly plays with the bath toys. She just wants to stand up, sit down, splash and repeat.
Chad and I finally decided that she should sleep through the night. Marin loves 4am! She didn't agree so we "encouraged" her to do it. She got on board after a few nights. We all sleep better now. I pray it will last.
Marin is not giving the warmest welcome to people who say hi but that means that I'm receiving tons of hugs. Usually Katie can put a huge smile on her face. When she gets comfortable, she is a happy girl.
Hanging out and playing with a new toy.
Who loves ya!?!
Here is one of Mom's stupid signs.
I'm busted.
Why go around when you can go through!?
I'm so close!

Balmy Biking
Katie and I went to the park this morning to take advantage of this balmy 50 degree day. It's downright hot for January! She's doing great on her new bike. She even stood on the peddles to get up the inclines.
We took a break to write our names in the melting snow. Nice way to start 2011.

Merry Christmas
(Belated) Holiday greetings from our home to yours!
We had a great Christmas this year. Things fell into place and it seemed to be pretty stress free. Now that is one great gift!
We hosted a Christmas Eve party with our families. It was nice to see everyone and celebrate the holiday. Here are the Ladies in Red in their Christmas Eve dresses.
My Christmas wish was granted in the morning. Both girls slept in! I was hoping that we wouldn't have an early morning wake up call. I wasn't sure how Katie would be this Christmas and whether the excitement would be too much. Thankfully she was partying into the wee hours of morning and slept late. She performed Jingle Bell Rock about a dozen times and the concerts wore her out. Even Marin took us to almost 7am. With Katie still asleep, we were able to have her open a few gifts on her own. Here's a gift from my aunt and uncle that is a new favorite.
We had a relaxing morning open gifts...many, many gifts. It was fun to watch them play with their new toys and to see their reactions.
The happy new owner of a red wagon.
The happy new owner of a big-girl bike.
The bike owner's reaction upon hearing that the red wagon was not hers (although we're sure the wagon owner will share).
We headed to the Vaudreuils in the afternoon for a great Christmas meal. It was a fun Christmas. More holiday outfits....
Marin and Delilah- the two recent additions to the family --playing together. Marin wasn't happy when we said it was time to go home.
Chad and I were exhausted but it was well worth it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Testing 1-2-3
I downloaded a blogging app to my phone so I'm testing it out. Stay tuned...
